The Case

An interactive, animated, one-page website following brand guidelines

Each season this is a big moment for any fan and for any team. Inter Milan is no different. To showcase their new Home kit we built a long scrollable site that unfolds as you go. Telling you the story and passion behind the kit.
As the new season starts Milan sheds his skin like a snake to be reborn in this classic design. We helped DEPT® by creating this one page site within a month containing a 3D shirt animation by WebGL image-sequence, three themes for each shirt, animations and interactive backgrounds.

Key Objectives

  • Build on top of the existing infrastructure: DEPT® built the rest of the website with NextJS (React), Chakra and Framer Motion. We used the same packages and system to deliver the one-pager within their structure.
  • Image Sequence: We didn't have enough time to create the requested 3D animation, so we created a WebGL powered image-sequence that played on scroll.
  • Ensure WCAG Level 2 compliance: To ensure accessibility and to follow the US law, we tested and applied various accessibility measures
  • Seamless themes: We built a seamless switch that transitions the complete user interface smoothly to the new color when visiting that section on the website. Even the scrollbar changes colors.
  • Expandability: Though this project was delivered years ago, our code is still being used to update and give life to the new shirts.

Recognition & Ongoing Partnership

Inter x Nike won a silver Dutch Interactive Award in the category Brand. The website is still in use, often updated, gets traction from news sites and is used in design inspiration directories. We look back on a positive collaboration with DEPT® and continue to work together.
